How sector indexes work
- They move once a day (at the 4 AM reset), driven entirely by real activity — no randomness.
- Job activity: when a sector's workers earn more than their 7-day average, the index rises. Quiet days pull it down.
- Market demand: when the server shop is absorbing lots of that sector's goods, the index rises.
- Scarcity: for Mining, rarer ores push the index up.
- Participation: more unique players working a sector = healthier sector.
- Check in game any time with /sectors.
- Fishing note: the Fishing index currently tracks job income only — custom-fish market sales aren't counted yet and will join in a future update.
Why watch?
When sector trading opens, you'll be able to invest in the sectors you believe in. Unlike the Prosperity Index (which is wild and unpredictable), sectors reward knowledge: if you can see Mining heating up before everyone else, you profit. Start building that instinct now — it costs nothing to watch.
